Eligibility Criteria

1. Educational Qualification (As on 18/11/2026)

• SSC / 10th Standard pass (with Science subjects) securing a minimum of 55% marks AND any one of the following:

  1. ITI / National Trade Certificate (NTC) / State Trade Certificate in the relevant trade.

  2. 2 years full-time National / State Apprenticeship Training in the relevant trade.

  3. 3 years relevant work experience in a Govt./PSU/Autonomous Body.

2. Age Limit (As on 18/11/2026)

• Upper Age Limit: 28 Years

• Age Relaxation:

  • SC / ST: Up to 5 years

  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): Up to 3 years

  • PwBD: 10 to 15 years

  • Ex-Servicemen / CSIR Employees: As per Government of India rules

CSIR CFTRI Technician Salary 2026

Technician (1) posts carry Pay Level 2 under the applicable CSIR pay structure.

The approximate monthly emoluments are calculated at the minimum of the pay scale, including admissible HRA at Mysuru headquarters. Other benefits may include DA, transport allowance, medical reimbursement, Leave Travel Concession, Children's Education Allowance and pension benefits under applicable rules.

Selection Process

Selection involves a 2-stage exam structure:

1. Screening & Trade Test: Qualifying nature.

2. Competitive Written Examination (Objective MCQ Type):

   • Paper I (Qualifying): Mental Ability Test (100 Marks / 50 Questions)

   • Paper II: General Awareness (75 Marks) & English Language (75 Marks)

   • Paper III: Concerned Subject / Trade Theory (150 Marks)

     (Final Merit list is prepared based on performance in Paper II and Paper III).

Marking Scheme

• Paper I: 2 marks for every correct answer; no negative marking.
• Paper II: 3 marks for every correct answer; 1 mark deducted for every incorrect answer.
• Paper III: 3 marks for every correct answer; 1 mark deducted for every incorrect answer.
• Medium: English and Hindi, except questions relating to the English language.
• Examination Standard: SSC + ITI / 12th Standard.
