CSIR-NAL Eligibility Criteria & Qualification 2026
Eligibility depends on the post level and the specialization applied for. Only candidates who have already completed their qualifying degree/diploma are eligible - candidates awaiting results of a qualifying examination cannot attend the interview. Where a candidate claims an equivalent qualification, they must produce the order/letter (with number and date) recognizing the equivalence, failing which the application is liable to be rejected. The prescribed qualifications are the minimum required; CSIR-NAL applies its own criteria for shortlisting and possessing the minimum qualification alone does not guarantee an interview call.
CSIR-NAL Age Limit 2026
The maximum age limit is 35 years for all posts under this notification, assessed as on the date of the Walk-in-Interview for the relevant post.
Age Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST/PwBD/Women candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates (or as per Government of India instructions issued from time to time). Candidates must clearly mention their category and attach documentary proof; without this proof, age relaxation will not be entertained and the candidate will not be permitted to appear for interview.

CSIR-NAL Selection Process 2026
Selection is based on performance in the interview, or any other criteria adopted by the Selection Committee. If a large number of candidates appear, the Selection/Screening Committee has the discretion to shortlist candidates through a written exam or any other criteria it deems fit before the interview. A panel of suitable candidates is drawn up after the selection process, valid for a maximum of one year; empanelment does not automatically guarantee engagement, and utilization depends on the number of positions available across projects during that period.
How to Apply for CSIR-NAL Recruitment 2026 (Walk-in-Interview Process)
CSIR-NAL Recruitment 2026 has no apply-online option, and applications sent by post, speed post, or e-mail are explicitly not accepted.
- Download the prescribed Application Form for Walk-in-Interview (Advt. No. 13/2026/PS) from the CSIR-NAL website and fill it completely.
- Report in person at CSIR-NAL (RAB Meeting Complex, National Aerospace Laboratories), Adjacent to SBI NAL Branch, Kodihalli, Bengaluru – 560017, between 9:00 AM and 9:45 AM on the date fixed for the post/specialization you are applying for.
- Bring a copy of your Aadhaar Card or another Government-issued photo ID, the duly filled application form, a latest passport-size photograph, and original certificates along with one set of photocopies (including Caste Certificate, if applicable, in the proper format).
- Candidates wishing to apply for more than one position must apply separately for each position.
- Be prepared to return the next day if your interview is not completed on the scheduled date for any reason.
No TA/DA is paid for attending the Walk-in-Interview. Candidates already working in CSIR-NAL or any other CSIR lab must bring a "No Objection Certificate" from their Project Leader/HOD at the time of interview.
