Post (Department) PwBD (included) ESM (included)
Senior PA (District & Sessions Courts) 7 – category (c) only Not listed
Personal Assistant (District & Sessions Courts) 25 – category (c) only Not listed
Personal Assistant (Family Courts) 2 – category (c) only Not listed
JJA (District & Sessions Courts) 8 15
JJA (Family Courts) 2 2
Process Server (District & Sessions Courts) 4 10
Process Server (Family Courts) 0 0
Peon / Orderly / Dak Peon (District & Sessions Courts) 6 14
Peon / Orderly / Dak Peon (Family Courts) 0 0

For Senior PA and PA, PwBD categories (a), (b), (d) and (e) are marked Not Suitable. The vacancies are tentative (including backlog) and can go up or down.

Look closely at the Family Courts rows. The single Process Server seat there is for an SC candidate only, and the three Peon seats there have no UR seat. The District & Sessions Courts rows still carry UR seats, but this is why you should read your own row, not just the total. Also note that PA and Senior PA share one post code (805/26), so one exam covers both.

Eligibility for DSSSB District Court Recruitment 2026

Educational Qualification

Post Essential Qualification
Senior Personal Assistant Graduate with Shorthand speed of not less than 110 wpm and typewriting 40 wpm
Personal Assistant Graduate with Shorthand 100 wpm, typing 40 wpm and knowledge of computer
Junior Judicial Assistant Graduate with typing speed of not less than 40 wpm on Computer
Process Server Matriculation pass or equivalent / Higher Secondary, with LMV driving licence and 2 years unblemished driving experience
Peon / Orderly / Dak Peon Matriculation pass or equivalent from a recognised board

Your qualification and experience are checked as on 4 November 2026. If you do not hold the essential qualification by that date, the notification says you need not apply. The desirable qualification and experience are NIL for every post, so nothing beyond the table above is asked. For the steno posts, the speed is the real test: if you type well but have no shorthand, JJA is the natural choice, and if you have neither, practise typing now because the typing test at 40 wpm is qualifying.

Age Limit

Age is counted as on 1 June 2026. You must be 18 to 27 years, which means born not earlier than 02/06/1999 and not later than 01/06/2008.

Category Upper Age Relaxation
SC / ST 5 years
OBC (Delhi only) 3 years
PwBD + UR / EWS 10 years
PwBD + SC / ST 15 years
PwBD + OBC 13 years
Ex-Servicemen Military service + 3 years (max up to 55 years)
Government Employees (3 years’ service) No relaxation (DDC Rules, 2012, Rule 7)

Your date of birth is taken only from your Matriculation / Secondary certificate, and no later change request is accepted.

Salary for DSSSB District Court Posts 2026

The notification gives the pay level and the pre-revised pay band with grade pay for each post:

Post Pay Level Pay Band + Grade Pay
Senior Personal Assistant Level 8 ₹9,300–34,800 + GP ₹4,800 (Group B, Non-Gazetted)
Personal Assistant Level 7 ₹9,300–34,800 + GP ₹4,600 (Group B, Non-Gazetted)
Junior Judicial Assistant Level 5 ₹5,200–20,200 + GP ₹2,800 (Group C)
Process Server Level 4 ₹5,200–20,200 + GP ₹2,400 (Group C)
Peon / Orderly / Dak Peon Level 3 ₹5,200–20,200 + GP ₹2,000 (Group C)

The notification does not list a basic pay figure or allowances, so we have not added one. The Group B stenography posts carry the highest grade pay; if you have shorthand speed, they are worth the extra practice.

Selection Process for DSSSB District Court Recruitment 2026

Each post code has its own separate exam. Only the stages below are prescribed:

Post Stages
Senior PA & PA (805/26) Tier-I MCQ → Tier-II Descriptive English → Tier-III Shorthand & Typing (qualifying) → Tier-IV Interview (10 marks)
Junior Judicial Assistant (806/26) Tier-I MCQ → Tier-II Descriptive English → Tier-III Typing 40 wpm (qualifying) → Tier-IV Interview (15 marks)
Process Server (807/26) Tier-I MCQ → Tier-II Driving Test in real traffic (qualifying) → Tier-III Interview (15 marks)
Peon / Orderly / Dak Peon (808/26) Tier-I MCQ → Tier-II Interview (15 marks)
Exam Pattern Tier-I MCQ Tier-II Descriptive

Rule Detail
Negative marking 0.25 mark cut for each wrong MCQ answer
Minimum marks (Tier-I & Tier-II) UR and EWS 50%; OBC (Delhi), SC, ST, PwBD and ESM 45%
Shorthand test Senior PA: 550 words in 5 min, max 22 mistakes; PA: 500 words in 5 min, max 20 mistakes; 40 min to transcribe
Shortlisting PA, Senior PA and JJA: up to 25 times the vacancies for Tier-II and up to 10 times for the skill test; Process Server: up to 15 times for the driving test; Peon: up to 10 times for interview
Invalid questions Not evaluated; marks are calculated on a prorated basis
Final merit (PA / Senior PA / JJA) Tier-II + Interview marks
Final merit (Process Server / Peon) Tier-I + Interview marks

The interview has no minimum qualifying marks. DSSSB and the Delhi District Courts can change the exam scheme before the exam, and for Process Server and Peon the Principal District & Sessions Judge (HQs) can modify or drop any stage.

For the office posts, the MCQ only shortlists you, and the ranking comes from the descriptive paper and the interview, so give daily time to essay writing, grammar and short translation. For Process Server and Peon, the MCQ marks count in the final merit, so English, Hindi, GK and arithmetic all matter equally. Your post and court preferences are taken at the interview, so decide them calmly beforehand.

Apply Online for DSSSB District Court Recruitment 2026

Step Action
1 Open the DSSSB OARS portal (link in Essential Links below)
2 New users complete the one-time registration with a fresh email ID and mobile number; others log in
3 Fill the application form for your post code and upload your photo and signature
4 Pay ₹100 through SBI e-pay if you are not exempted
5 Check every field, submit, and take a printout

Keep your OBC (Delhi) non-creamy layer certificate or EWS Income & Asset certificate ready before you apply, because you must already hold it when you fill the form. Documents are uploaded later at the e-dossier stage.

If you registered on OARS for an earlier DSSSB exam, do not register again; just log in with your old ID. New users should note that an email ID or mobile number already registered on OARS is not accepted. DSSSB says it is not responsible if you miss an update, so check the DSSSB and Delhi District Courts websites regularly, and apply a few days early because the portal gets heavy near the last date.
