Punjab and Haryana High Court Clerk Recruitment 2026 Notification Out - Apply Online for 1,270 Posts

The High Court of Punjab and Haryana at Chandigarh, through the Society for Centralized Recruitment of Staff in Subordinate Courts (S.S.S.C.), has released the official recruitment notification for 1,270 Clerk posts across the District Courts of Punjab.

Qualification & Eligibility

1. Educational Qualification:

   • Degree: Bachelor’s degree in Arts, Science (B.A., B.Sc.), or equivalent from a recognized university.

   • Mandatory Language: Passed Matriculation (10th standard) with Punjabi as a mandatory subject.

   • Skill: Proficiency in operating computers.

2. Age Limit (as on 01.01.2026):

   • General / Unreserved: 18 to 37 years

   • SC / BC / OBC of Punjab: 18 to 42 years (5 years relaxation)

   • PwBD of Punjab: Up to 10 years relaxation

Selection Process & Exam Pattern

Selection involves three stages:

1. Computer-Based Test (CBT) Written Exam

Total duration is 2 hours (100 Marks).

• General Knowledge (Objective): 50 questions (50 marks)

• English Composition (Objective): 20 questions (20 marks)

• English Composition (Subjective - 30 marks):

  • Essay (approx. 150 words) – 10 marks

  • Letter Writing – 5 marks

  • Précis Writing – 5 marks

  • Punjabi to English Translation – 10 marks

Qualifying Cut-off: Candidates must secure at least 33% marks in each subject section and a minimum 40% aggregate in the written exam. Negative marking of 1/4th (0.25) mark applies to objective questions.

2. Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) (Qualifying Nature)

• Spreadsheet Test: 10 marks (10 minutes duration) – minimum 4 marks required to qualify.

• English Typing Test: Minimum 30 WPM required on computer.

3. Document Verification & Testimonial Checking

Fee must be paid online and is non-refundable. Applicants opting "Others" in the Gender column will pay the fee applicable to their category as per the table above.

3. Complete the registration step using your active mobile number and email ID.

4. Fill out the application form with personal, educational, and category details.

5. Upload required documents (photo, signature, matriculation Punjabi certificate, degree).

6. Pay the prescribed application fee online and download the submitted form for future reference.
